Ya this is a great question and one I'm not sure the answer to. I know Baptists have total depravity doctrine (humans are fallen and prone to evil) same as a few other traditions, but perhaps Baptists are more committed to that belief or are less optimistic about 'the world' for whatever reason.
I think LDS have a similar idea with the 'natural man', but perhaps it is offset when paired with 'light of christ' teachings.

Our redemption doctrine is more optimistic and generous.
